Regular calibration of temperature sensors is crucial because they are subject to a variety of mechanical, thermal, and chemical stresses that can cause drift over time. This drift can cause the measured temperature to deviate from the actual temperature. Regular calibration allows the differences between the actual and measured temperature to be determined, making the specific drift behavior visible. Dry block calibrators are effective instruments for checking and calibrating a wide range of temperature measuring instruments and temperature sensors.
The block calibrator is used for the calibration of temperature sensors, such as Pt100, Pt1000 and many other temperature sensors. The dry block function provides a practical solution for calibrating temperature sensors in laboratory and field use. The use of the correct ''transition sleeve'' ensures optimal thermal coupling between the dry block and the specimen to be calibrated.
The versatility of the calibration insert makes it possible to calibrate a wide range of straight temperature sensors of different lengths and diameters with the block calibrator. This significantly increases the flexibility and applicability of the drying block. Another advantage of the dry block function is that it covers the entire temperature range without the need to change the calibration medium. This significantly reduces the effort for the user, as no special precautions need to be taken for different viscosities, flash points or outgassing.
Overall, the block calibrator provides an efficient and user-friendly method for calibrating temperature sensors, both in the laboratory and in field applications.
